Are You Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22–23 (KJV)
A fruit is the most beautiful part of a plant or tree. In fact, it is the portion that gives the plant or tree its name. Likewise, as children of God, the fruit we bear shows the kind of spirit that lives in us. If we bear the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, it shows the character of God in us. It is important to keep in mind that it takes time to start bearing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 4:4). When we humble ourselves to the Holy Spirit and allow it to lead us through the Word of God, it becomes easy to bear the fruit of the Spirit. It’s important to be patient with yourself and others as you grow in the fruit of the spirit. Remember that God will use people, events, circumstances, difficulties, or challenges to bear the fruit in you. Therefore, don’t complain but instead cease every opportunity to exhibit the qualities of the Holy Spirit in you and bear the fruit of the Spirit showing God’s character in you. May your day be fruitful to the Lord and others!
