Love Your Skin, So It Loves You Back

Did you know our skin is the largest organ attached to our body, and what we eat and drink affects how it looks and feels? Our skin is the only organ attached to our body’s outside. Due to our skin being external, it is exposed to many harsh elements like the harsh sun and environmental conditions like wind, smoke, and harsh chemicals. It is our first line of defense, protecting everything underneath it. Taking measures to protect our skin can be considered trying to some extent, but it needs to be done. We can protect and care for our skin in two ways: internally and externally. For this article, I will start by explaining how to care for our skin internally. To care for our skin internally, we must begin with the foods and beverages we eat.

The first remedy we should start with is WATER. Our skin looks and feels lovely, soft, and supple when adequately hydrated. Water helps flush toxins from the body through sweat and urination, keeping us regular and promoting productive bowel movements. Drinking a substantial amount of water can also keep acne away and clear up old acne scars. Another thing that helps our skin to stay healthy is the foods we eat. For instance, eating fresh fruits and vegetables can help our skin stay hydrated and our face acne-free. Also, taking herbal supplements like Abigail’s Apothecary Liver Blend can help the skin’s outer appearance look healthy. Abigail’s Apothecary Liver Blend is made with wild-crafted herbs that can help remove toxins that help cleanse and filter the liver.

Chlorophyll is another supplement that can be used to keep our skin looking its best. Chlorophyll helps to cleanse the blood and helps to cleanse the liver. Doing so also helps with acne and acne scars. Now that we are done discussing how to cleanse the skin internally, let’s focus on what can be done to cleanse the skin externally. Cleansing the skin twice daily with a gentle cleanser can help keep acne away and diminish acne scars. At Abigail’s Apothecary, our Turmeric Gold soap bar is a beautiful addition to your facial cleaning regimen. Our soap is a natural handmade soap with organic turmeric added. Turmeric can be anti-inflammatory, cleansing the skin, removing hyperpigmentation, and removing acne and acne scars. To keep the skin moisturized, Abigail’s Apothecary natural body butter can help to keep your skin looking its best.

Another item you can use to moisturize the skin is olive oil. Olive oil is also hydrating, anti-aging, and anti-inflammatory and can gently exfoliate the skin. You can add sugar to olive oil for a rich, exfoliating scrub. Finally, let’s remember the importance of sunscreen. Sunscreen helps protect the skin from sun damage and keeps our skin from being vulnerable to certain skin cancers. In conclusion, when we take care of our skin, it will take care of us by giving us the protection we need.
