Self-care for your Mental Health
Contributed by: Marguerite Wright
I am no mental health expert, but I’ve studied the human body for many years as an Herbalist, Massage Therapist, and CBD Specialist. The human body is an amazing machine. The brain is the battery that keeps the body running along with the heart. The gut is sometimes called the second brain and that is why you are hearing more and more about the importance of Gut health. Do the research. Self-care is so important. Nobody is going to take care of your body better than you!
For the best mental health, we need to look at a few things: Blood type diet, gut health, medications and supplements, physical exercise, and stress management.
What is your blood type? Did you know each blood type has personality traits? Do your research on Blood types.
● Blood type A
● Blood type B
● Blood type AB
● Blood type O
Learn your blood type and the best foods for your blood type. When I consult with my clients I advise the best health program for them. I recommend a good detox program a few times a year. People feel like they can’t enjoy what they eat and be on a diet at the same time, but don’t think of it as a diet. Think of it as converting over to a healthier lifestyle. You will feel so much better when you remove toxic, packaged foods, greasy foods, junk foods, and sweet sodas and juices. Learn healthy, delicious alternatives.
Foods to avoid
● Avoid fast food joints,
● avoid foods that have dyes,
● high fructose corn syrup,
● and preservatives
Preserves can be linked to hyperactivity, depression, and ADHD. You will be shocked when you learn all the side effects of consuming High Fructose Corn Syrup. Many packaged foods have it. Supplements such as Vitamin Bs, CBD, and herbs like Ashwagandha will help you naturally deal with stress and nourish your nervous system! CBD is good for every organ in the body including the nervous system. In fact, many people don’t know we have an endocannabinoid system, our bodies actually need CBD!
Learn about the side effects of prescription drugs and how it affects your brain. Meds have side effects that can lead to dementia, depression, seizures, and more mental issues. Make a plan with your doctor so you don’t have to take the meds for the rest of your life. There are supplements, nutrition your body may be lacking, and other ways to manage your stress, seizures, depression, and anxiety. CBD supplements have been helping people with Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, and even the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease. If your doctor is not familiar with the benefits of CBD for mental health I can help you link them up with knowledgeable MD doctors who have the information they need.
Convert to healthier self-care, including exercise and massage therapy.
